How Adventure Pack Began: From Simple Walks to Real Adventure

Adventure Pack was born from a simple idea: dogs deserve more than just a quick walk around the block. Our founder, Danielly (“Dany”) Torres, grew up in Brazil with a lifelong love of animals. After moving to the New York area, she saw how many dogs were cooped up at home—longing for exercise, friendship, and adventure.

Dany began walking dogs professionally in 2012 and in 2020, she launched Adventure Pack with a first pack from Scarsdale, NY to give dogs the outlet they needed. At her side was Lincoln, a black labrador retriever whose steady, joyful nature made him the original leader of Adventure Pack. Lincoln is no longer with us but still joins us on every hike in spirit. He continues to set the tone for everything we do: loyal, adventurous, and happiest while leading the pack on the trail.

Danielly “Dany” Torres – Founder & Pack Leader

With a lifelong passion for dogs and years of hands-on pack management, Dany leads Adventure Pack’s on-the-ground operations. She’s trained in dog handling, group management, and canine first aid, and is the heart of our daily adventures. Her goal is simple: make every dog feel seen, safe, and happy.

Lincoln, The Original Pack

A Note From Dany

Lincoln came into my life when he was two years old, and for the next seven years, we were inseparable. Every day with him taught me something new — not just about dogs, but about patience, leadership, and companionship. He was a seventy-pound black Labrador with an even bigger heart, and though he’s no longer with us, his spirit still leads every hike we take at Adventure Pack.

When Lincoln and I started inviting other dogs to join us, he became the quiet teacher at the center of it all. He showed the pack how to play, how to listen, and how to move together as one — always confident, never forceful, and endlessly kind. Watching him work reminded me that true leadership doesn’t come from control, but from trust and consistency.

Lincoln taught me that every dog has a story and that the best lessons are often unspoken. He showed me how to recognize when a dog is ready to take that first off-leash step and how to create a space where they can thrive in nature, safely and joyfully.

Though Lincoln is gone, his lessons live on in every dog we work with. His calm strength, gentle confidence, and boundless love inspire everything we do at Adventure Pack — from the way we lead our hikes to the way we care for each member of the pack.

Lincoln was more than my dog. He is the reason Adventure Pack exists.
